This Year’s Theme
These and These (Eilu V’Eilu)
The Talmudic claim that “These and these are the words of the Living God” proposes that Rabbinic Judaism has a radically pluralistic view of God’s truth.
Over the 10 days of the Tevet winter break program, we will explore the evolution, meanings, implications, and limitations of this explosive new idea and try to understand why, despite its centrality to our literary and legal traditions, it is so hard for us to internalize and live up to this theoretical pluralism.
