Zamru Summit 2024
July 9-14 | Jerusalem
A Global Gathering of Music and Prayer Leaders
This intensive meeting of high-level Jewish musical-spiritual artists from Israel and North America shapes a laboratory for participants to deepen their respective work through shared study, prayer, dialogue, and performance, learning from each other, as well as from master teachers and practitioners in Israel. Together, participants will explore what spiritual music-making looks like both within mainstream Jewish institutions and without how to expand the field. In addition to establishing deep interpersonal relationships among individual members of the cohort, the summit will foster a relationship of bilateral exchange between Israeli and North American artists, learning from the vibrant and flourishing musical-spiritual cultures of the respective communities and share innovative ideas and best practices. Participants will engage in a visioning process to explore what could come from a more extensive partnership between communities of Israeli and North American musical-spiritual artists, including possible future initiatives in Jerusalem (or in both Israel and North America), such as further summits or fellowship initiatives.
