Press Release: Zamru Festival

Finding Spiritual Resilience Through Prayer and Music • June 26, 2025

Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center’s Zamru Prayer Festival drawing prayer leaders and artists from all over the country for intense four-day experience – rebuilding hope and finding strength in music.

Against all the odds, the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center’s International Zamru Prayer Festival, slated to take place July 1 through 4, is garnering major interest as dozens of prayer leaders and musicians from all over Israel have already confirmed their arrival and participation.

The intensive four-day festival offers its participants a variety of masterclasses, study sessions, collaborative experimentation and creation, as well as opportunities for live performances which will be open to the public, in the heart of Jerusalem and around the country. A residency program focusing on writing, composing, and producing original liturgically-based songs will also be offered, the fruits of which will be publicly released following the festival.

Meir Berman, Co-Director of the Zamru program, said, “We continue to pursue our vision of laying a sustainable foundation for the development of prayer and creativity. The festival is the natural next step after last year’s hugely successful Zamru Summit,” which culminated in the release of an EP with the music created in the cross-cultural collaboration between the North American and Israeli artists throughout the summit. The EP, titled Songs of Zamru: Anenu, is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music, and Deezer

The 2025 International Zamru Prayer Festival is a partnership of Sha’arei Bracha, the Honey Foundation for Israel, KKL-JNF, the Jewish Agency, the Shirley and William Fleischer Family Foundation, and private donors.

Dr. Stephen Daniel Arnoff, CEO of the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center, added, “In these challenging, painful, and uncertain times, communal prayer and music serve as a source of stability and hope. Recognizing the vital role of those dedicated to this work and its importance to the spiritual resilience of our society, we aspire to bring the power of prayer and music to more people, communities, and spaces around the world.”

About the Zamru Program

Zamru is an annual peer program powering experiential, creative, and inquisitive exploration of prayer. We investigate the role of prayer in our lives, within our community, and in the Jewish-Israeli rituals of the 21st century. Aiming to cultivate a community of prayer leaders who are committed to creating and maintaining spaces and language for contemporary Jewish prayer both including and beyond traditional forms, the program’s approach is rooted in Jewish legacies while engaging in an open, respectful, and fruitful dialogue with the world.
